Plant Essentials
Fertilizer/ feed for the plant: The Aloe plant thrives in well – drained, sandy loam soil. At the time of planting, add a good amount of cow dung manure or compost to the potting soil.
Repotting : Repot your Aloe Vera once a year. This will ensure that your Aloe gets fresh soil and ample room to grow.
Propagation : With time you will notice that your pot gets crowded with baby aloes which are called Pups. For propagation cut off these pups from the mother plant and place them in a different pot. Aloe can also be propagated by leaf cutting and suckers.
Common Problems
1. Why are my Aloe Vera leaves turning yellow?
Overwatering or under watering causes yellowing of the Aloe Vera plant.
2. Why is my Aloe Vera plant is drooping?
Overwatering can cause drooping of the Aloe Vera plant. Water the plant less frequently and only when the soil is completely dry, to correct this issue.
3. Why is my aloe vera mini mushy to touch?
If your Aloe Plant is completely mushy it is because of overwatering. If the stem is still tough the plant can be salvaged. Water your plant less frequently to avoid your aloe leaves from turning mushy.
Style and Décor
Light Requirements : Aloes grow well in shaded areas. 3 to 4 hours of sunlight is enough for proper growth of your Aloe. Although Aloe Vera can survive full sunlight, grow your aloe under some shade for better growth.
Locations : Aloe Vera can be grown both indoors and outdoors. An ideal spot for your Aloe plant would be near a window where your plant gets ample amount of light. It is also great on table tops.
Styling/décor tip : If you are planning to add this wonderful, multitasking succulent to your indoor jungle, we suggest teaming it up with a stunning planter. The erect, dense, and fleshy leaves of the Aloe Vera can give an instant facelift to your living room, balcony, shelf, or your centre table.
